Roosters deny Josh Dugan rumours

According to Fox Sports, the Sydney Roosters have denied reports that they are planning to sign Cronulla’s Josh Dugan.

On Tuesday, a report from nine.com.au suggested that the Premiers were considering signing the former Origin and Test centre after the departure of Latrell Mitchell, and the subsequent ACL injury picked up by his potential replacement, Billy Smith.

However, according to Fox Sports, Sydney have quickly quashed the rumours.

The Sharks have been looking to rid themselves on Dugan’s large contract with his current deal worth over $800,000-a-year.

The 29-year old still has two years left on his current contract and is due to start the 2020 campaign in reserve grade for the Newtown Jets, unless he can force his way back into Cronulla’s starting 13.
