Rohan Smith struggles to explain bizarre Leeds Rhinos win

Rohan Smith seemingly struggled to explain what happened on the field last night.

Especially as he looked to the end of the first half when Leeds Rhinos gave themselves hope of a fightback against the Wigan Warriors through a Harry Newman intercept try only for Wigan to go up the other end in an attack that saw Zane Tetevano sent off for a late hit on Harry Smith.

His namesake Rohan said you couldn’t imagine that as he took his time to fully assess the game speaking on Sky Sports

“Our first halves haven’t been too flash, there was a chain of events at the end of that first half that you couldn’t imagine that happened back to back in the first half but we regrouped at halftime and came out with a good energy in the second half.

“There is no lack of belief and that has just been confirmed more than anything.”

He also revealed that he was calm at the break despite the setbacks in the first half:

“I was pretty calm, we talked about generating a bit more momentum with our carries and the need to keep working for each other.”

Smith also spoke on where Leeds are at currently as a side:

“I’m Confident but not comfortable with the inconsistencies in our performance. Sometimes we are way off. Not comfortable but confident in the ability in the group.

“It is unrealistic to think we will play red hot all the time what we have struggled with is finding big enough chunks to.”
