Rohan Smith speaks on Channel 4 coverage

For the first time since the opening round of the 2022 Super League season, Leeds Rhinos will be on Channel 4 as they host Catalans Dragons at Headingely.

The Dragons are unbeaten at present and Leeds come into the game after losing to Castleford Tigers which means they have lost more games than they have won.

Speaking today ahead of the game, Leeds boss Rohan Smith previewed the game saying it is exciting to play on Channel 4.

He said: “It’s nice to play well in front of people, but equally we would want to play well behind closed doors.

“It’s great for the game that it is free to air. It’s great for our competition and we will do our best to make a great game of it and put the game on show so people are getting the best version of Super League.

“That will be our plan.”

Smith also joked that the one thing he wants to change about the performance is playing the ball:

“Play the ball at the end of your carry. We were in a good enough position, without playing great, to come home strong and we didn’t give ourselves the chance.

“It happens to every team especially on a muddy, wet and slippery night.”
