Rohan Smith reveals the Leeds Rhinos who is already a “favourite” in the squad as he feels club are in a good place

Leeds Rhinos’ pre-season is well underway as they prepare for the 2023 Super League season hoping to go one better than last season after they lost the Grand Final to St Helens.

The club have made a number of exciting signings for the new season and have a bit of a new look side going into 2023.

One of the new faces is French international Justin Sangare who Rohan Smith has revealed is already a favourite amongst the squad: “He’s already a bit of a favourite amongst the boys. He speaks good English already and the boys are getting on with him very well.

He also revealed that he believes the squad is in a strong place at the moment as they approach Christmas as he spoke to the club’s YouTube channel:

“As we go by the Christmas period, we will have the squad together and there is a real good feel amongst the group.”

The Rhinos face Wakefield a day after Christmas on Boxing Day in a traditional festive friendly.

After this battle, Leeds will prepare for an opening Super League clash against Warrington Wolves with fixtures against the likes of Leigh Leopards in pre-season.

Sangare has been awarded the number 17 shirt previously held by Cameron Smith who has moved up to the number 13 shirt.
