Rohan Smith reveals new signing could make loan move

On Thursday night, Leeds Rhinos’ two game winning run came to an end against Castleford Tigers who were winless going into the game.

The Rhinos made far too many errors in the second half but overall their attack lacked direction.

But they had something to cheer themselves up with on Friday night with a great reserves win over the Tigers.

Son of Leeds legend Kevin Sinfield, Jack has high potential and showed it for the reserves in a 46-10 win. The Rhinos thrashed Castleford with Sinfield scoring a superb brace of tries that show he fits the Rohan Smith model.

He also came up with a brilliant assist for Kai Morgan.

In the same side, Luke Hooley made his return after ankle surgery.

Hooley signed for the Rhinos from Batley Bulldogs and featured against New Zealand for Leeds in the Kiwis’ warm up game for the World Cup.

It was his first outing since his surgery on Friday with the surgery stemming from a pre-season training injury.

Leeds boss Rohan Smith was impressed saying today: “Luke played fine for the reserves. It was a good hard game and plenty of hood contact and it was a good hit out.

“He needs to play more, and we’re thinking about the best way maybe playing Championship or more reserves.”

So a loan move is possible but when asked if he could make a loan move to a Super League side, Smith said: “Not at this point no.”
