Rohan Smith provides update on “significant injuries” to trio of stars

Leeds Rhinos

Leeds Rhinos did it incredibly tough tonight with injuries.

The first player injured for the Rhinos was halfback Aidan Sezer who picked up a groin injury inside the first five minutes of the game as he probed for a gap behind Konrad Hurrell and Jonny Lomax.

Next was star man Harry Newman who Sky Sports have reported has suffered another hamstring injury after three in 2022.

Mere minutes after that Morgan Gannon, like Newman before him, was helped from the field with a leg injury.

In the second half Leeds already had a strange looking side.

Corey Johnson and Richie Myler made up the halves James McDonnell was at centre and Sam Walters was in the backrow as Leeds did it tough.

Speaking after the game, Rohan Smith gave an update on what he knew about the injuries to the trio:

“I haven’t asked. No one has come near me. They are all significant injuries. You knew they weren’t coming back on the field after the way they went off.

“They will be scanned and reviewed over the weekend and we will see what happens.”
