Rohan Smith opens up on what new Leeds Rhinos signing will bring in 2023

It’s been a busy off season for 2022 Super League Grand Finalists Leeds Rhinos with nearly 10 new signings through the door.

One of the highest profile was of course Sam Lisone from the NRL.

Speaking this week, Head Coach Rohan Smith explained what Lisone will bring to the Rhinos:

“Sam is all about the team, he has some skill and some footwork. He equally likes running into people. He is a useful and fit guy, he has gotten bigger as his body matured but when his motor gets going he gets really busy.”

Meanwhile, Lisone himself had his say on what he will bring to Heading:

“Couple hard runs, couple of hard hits, a standard front row and doing my best for the team. The only praise I need is from the team.

“Me and Rohan talked about finding that spark and hopefully we can do something special next year.

“Finding that love for the game again, I have come here for a fresh opportunity and a new start with new teammates and give it a great crack.

“I don’t want to talk about what happened then, I am all Leeds and I want to rip in for my new teammates.”

When asked if he was here to win trophies, he had a brilliant response:

“That’s the goal, I am not coming over all this way, 36 hours, to just take part. If I was just coming to f**k around I would stay in Australia.”
