Rohan Smith addresses Jack Broadbent’s reported link to Super League rivals

Jack Broadbent is a highly-talented 21-year-old who has been at the forefront of the Leeds Rhinos team in recent seasons.

Unfortunately, in 2022, chances have been limited for the outside back with a report earlier in the week by Yorkshire Live linking Broadbent with a move to Super League rivals Castleford Tigers.

When asked about Broadbent potentially moving on at the end of the season, Leeds boss Rohan Smith was coy.

“I don’t read publications so I’m not aware of where he may or may not be going,” Smith said.

“Players off contracts have the potential to explore their options so I won’t be making too many comments on where they may or not be.”

Alongside Broadbent, a number of Leeds stars such as Rhyse Martin and Tom Briscoe are out of contract at the end of the season, with Smith ‘getting there’ in terms of who he wants to retain at Headingley.

“I’m getting there understanding how the salary cap operates and how people are valued over here.

“So, I’ve been spending a bit of time there with a bit of discussion at the club.”
