Rochdale Hornets poach Wigan Warriors hooker

Rochdale Hornets have announced the signing of the Aiden Roden from Wigan Warriors on a one-year deal.

Roden is a highly rated hooker who played in the Championship last year with Widnes Vikings and Whitehaven RLFC.

Chairman Andy Mazey spoke to the Rochdale website about his excitement over the new signing.

“I am delighted to welcome Aiden to the club he had a really successful spell in the Championship last year,” Mazey said.

“He’s a player I have followed closely as I know his family well so I am sure the supporters will enjoy watching him this year,”

Roden himself is looking forward to playing and cannot wait to get started at the Lancashire club: “I have already met most of the lads and they’re a class bunch, I can’t wait to get on the field with them.

“The club have got a great set up and training is very professional so I am ready for a great year,” Roden said.
