St Helens captain James Roby hopes his side’s past experiences in the Super League Grand Final will help them over the line.
Saints, who are in their 13th Grand Final,will face a Catalans Dragons side playing in the Old Trafford showpiece for the first time.
Roby himself has featured in all but three of those finals.
He said: “I hope it will work in our favour. Hopefully that does take a little bit of energy out of their game on Saturday.
“In saying that, we are expecting to play the strongest Catalans team. We have to get the job done on Saturday, prepare as normal, and hopefully it will work in our favour.”
On talk of a possible three-peat, he added: “It would be fantastic. It would take a lot to do it, it’s an amazing achievement with the amount of work that has gone in.
“At the same time, we are very aware things might not go our way.”
