Hull FC made multiple signings for the 2023 season as they brought in a new spine.

But sadly it took some time for the Black and Whites to be able to field this exciting new spine.

That is because their new star signing from Castleford Tigers Jake Trueman arrived at the club injured.

Then as he returned Tex Hoy picked up an injury.

Against Castleford in the Challenge Cup, Tony Smith was able to name the trio for the first time and former Super League star at Bradford Bulls Robbie Hunter-Paul talked up their spine branding Tex Hoy as “the greatest name in rugby league.”

“Tex Hoy, I love that name, is that not the greatest name in rugby league?” he said on BBC.

“He is the icing on the cake for Hull FC, he has been injured and there have been a lot of expectations in him.

“Some have written him off already but he is one to watch.”

He then stated that all the roads lead back to Clifford:

“All roads lead back to Jake Clifford. He is a big bloke for a halfback. He has a big frame and he can organise too.”
