Rob Burrow’s father sends defiant message in support of his son

Geoff Burrow has sent out an incredible message in support of his son Rob following the latter’s own heartfelt message.

Rob’s battle against Motor Neurone Disease and his subsequent fight to raise as much money as possible has largely fallen on the shoulders of long-term friend Kevin Sinfield.

However, there have been a number of other people who have tried to help the MND cause, with the likes of Martyn Clarke, who is going to complete seven half-Ironman challenges in seven days.

An Ironman challenge consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile run, raced in that order.

Of course, Clarke is doing half of that so it will consist of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile cycle and 13.1-mile run.

Clarke is going to do that seven times, consecutively, to raise money for Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Burrow has also been given an incredible five-figure cheque by the Leeds Irish Centre after being invited to a Sports Dinner with many other fundraising drives raising wondrous amounts of money.

But, Rob revealed that doctors had only given a one to two year diagnosis back in November 2019 – well he has already smashed that and took to Twitter to show his determination.

That tweet was followed by his father, Geoff, writing a superb reply which read: I have just read an absolutely brilliant tweet from my wonderful Rob. YES you are going to beat MND Rob – We Can, We Will, I Can, I Will. That’s my Son xxx”
