Rob Burrow teams up with Doddie Weir to launch own gin

Rob Burrow MBE and Doddie Weir OBE are sporting legends in the world of rugby – league and union – and now the friends have combined to launch a new premium gin for fans to purchase and support a cause close to their hearts.

After memorable and successful rugby careers, both Rob and Doddie were sadly diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND). Since then, they have forged a friendship born out of their support for one another.

They have united to use the passion and positivity that made them rugby greats to raise awareness and seek ways to further MND research with the aim of finding a cure.

This unbelievable determination and grit has led them to launch 75 Gin, their first partnership project. The gin has been developed by the Spirit of Harrogate, brand owners of award-winning Slingsby Gin hailing from Yorkshire, home county to Rob.

Named after the combined playing numbers of Rob (7) and Doddie (5), all profits from sales of the product will go towards MND research.

Rob Burrow MBE commented, “This is a great new initiative and I’m delighted to be able to team up with my good friend Doddie. We never shared a pitch together sadly but he’s my team mate in the fight against MND. I think it would make a great Christmas gift and you will know you’re supporting a very worthy cause.”

Doodie Weir OBE commented, “I’m so delighted that Rob and I have been able to work together to produce this amazing gin. Like rugby, it’s all about commitment, dedication, focus and a great team pulling together towards one aim: a world without MND. I hope you enjoy our new 75 gin and toast a cure to MND.”
