Rob Burrow sends incredible message after beating doctors’ odds

Rob Burrow has once more delivered a heartfelt message on his Twitter social media page, outlining his path with Motor Neurone Disease since being diagnosed.

The former Leeds Rhinos halfback or hooker was diagnosed with MND back in December 2019, with doctors initially giving Burrow just one to two. years to live.

Instead, the diminutive number 7 has gone from strength to strength in terms of mental determination as his body attempts to combat the disease.

He has been helped by lifelong friend and hero Kevin Sinfield who recently completed a remarkable 101 miles in 24 hours, raising millions in the process with Burrow and Sinfield uniting the whole of rugby league in admiration.

Wigan Warriors then gave Burrow their own piece of memorabilia at Robin Park Arena – Wigan’s training centre – with an image of Sinfield embracing Burrow when the two played together at the Leeds Rhinos with the caption: “The best teammates care”.

And, the 39-year-old continues to share his determination to continue living against the odds that were previously given to him by doctors.

Burrow tweeted: “Two years ago yesterday, I was told I had 1-2 years to live and to get my affairs in order. That day something happened to me – I became more determined than ever! There is no way this horrible disease is going to beat me. 2 years on I’m more focused than ever.”
