Rob Burrow rightly slams Twitter user for charity and money comment

Rob Burrow is one of the most inspirational characters to have ever walked the planet.

Dismissed by most for his size as he tried to build a rugby league career, the diminutive playmaker became one of the most revered players to step foot on the field.

Following his diagnosis with Motor Neurone Disease back in the winter of 2019, the respect for Burrow has grown intensely with a number of former teammates, coaches and even those who have never met him doing their utmost to raise money for the MND Association as well as research into a possible cure.

And, the former Leeds Rhinos star has since announced his latest project to raise money with a Strictly Come Dancing-esque ball, with the likes of Sky Sports pundit Barrie McDermott taking part.

Also involved will be BBC reporters Dan Walker and Sally Nugent who have helped raise awareness for Burrow and the disease ever since the diagnosis.

However, for one particular Twitter user, the idea of the BBC pair taking part in the dancing ball for charity was something he could not fathom, accusing the duo of getting paid.

That rankled Burrow who responded in emphatic fashion, tweeting: “Some complete idiots on here. No one is doing anything for money – prick!”

The Burrow Ball has since sold out and it promises to be a fantastic night!
