Rob Burrow gives his own verdict on Channel 4’s coverage of rugby league

Channel 4 has been praised to the high heavens in recent days with the superb coverage of rugby league on Saturday afternoon.

A fresh twist on the game with comedian Adam Hills alongside Sam Tomkins, Danika Priim and Leon Pryce as pundits and Mark Wilson and Kyle Amor as commentators.

It just worked – in its entirety – with record numbers of viewers tuning in to watch Leeds Rhinos do battle with the Warrington Wolves with the latter just running out winners in the end.

And, for Leeds legend Rob Burrow, he couldn’t have been more happier to see the sport being showcased on terrestrial television.

He tweeted: “What a statement for our game. @c4sport has unearthed a gem which hopefully give our game a bigger platform.”

This week’s featured game will see Hull FC host St Helens at the MKM Stadium as both attempt to maintain their 100% records of the 2022 Super League season so far.

Hull were able to overcome Wakefield Trinity on Sunday afternoon in a 16-12 victory whilst Saints put the Catalans Dragons to the sword in an emphatic 28-8 triumph.

There has been so much positivity in rugby league recently and Channel 4 has a great deal to do with that. Long may it continue!
