Jordy Crowther signs for Warrington
Warrington Wolves have today announced the signing of Wakefield Trinity forward Jordan Crowther until the end of the season. Speaking on his arrival at the Halliwell Jones, Crowther said: “I can’t wait to get started. There was a lot of pressure at Wakefield with the relegation fight this year but then there’s also a lot of pressure at Warrington with the club pushing to achieve what they’re aiming to.” Crowther is ineligible for the Wolves clash against Wakefield next weekend.
Multiple bids for Super League TV rights
RL Commercial have confirmed multiple bids have come in for the Super League TV rights , with Sky Sports, Channel 4 and Viaplay Sports current deals set to expire. Reports have emerged that TNT Sports, formally BT Sport, have tabled an offer after the RFL were left ‘disappointed’ by Sky’s offer. DAZN are also thought to be interested in acquiring the rights.
Wakefield tie down key man
Wakefield Trinity have today announced club captain Matty Ashurst has signed a new deal with the club, which will see him stay at Belle Vue next season. On his new deal, the back-rower said: “I’m really pleased to get the deal done and to be staying at Wakefield. I’ve been at the club a long time and I’ve always enjoyed my time playing here, so to get another year sorted which means I can just focus on playing rugby and the big end to the season is great.”
Adam Keighran joins Wigan
Wigan Warriors have confirmed the signing of Catalans Dragons star Adam Keighran on a two year deal from next season. Speaking on his move to the DW, Keighran said: “I’m eager to continue learning and improving my game under the staff there, learn the history of the Club and hoping to add to the success the Club already has.” Keighran is one of a number of signings the Cherry and Whites have made ahead of 2024, with Sam Walters, Kruise Leeming and Keighran’s Catalans team mate Tiaki Chan all confirmed to be moving to the club.
Sylvester Namo signs for Castleford
PNG star Sylvester Namo has agreed a deal to join Castleford Tigers, according to the players agent. The prop forward has been heavily linked with a move to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle in recent weeks, however the move has now been confirmed. Posting on social media, Lombardi Sports Management said: “Sylvester Namo headed to the Super League!! Huge congratulations to our PNG man who has signed with the Castleford Tigers for the 2024 season. Thank you for trusting us and we can’t wait to see you dominate in England.”
Championship side make shock coaching decision
Bradford Bulls have appointed Eamon O’Carroll as their Head Coach from the start of next season. O’Carroll is currently the Assistant Coach of Super League side Catalans Dragons, and he will see out this season with the Dragons before his move to the Odsal. Commenting on his appointment, O’Carroll said: “it is a great feeling, I am really looking forward to it, it is a huge honour everyone knows the proud history of the club so to be a part of that moving forward is a really proud moment for me and my family.”
Wigan star opens up on proposed move
Wigan Warriors star Jai Field has revealed why a proposed move to Leeds Rhinos fell through prior to him joining the Cherry and Whites. Speaking to the media yesterday ahead of his side’s Challenge Cup semi-final, Field said: “Yeah, definitely. If a few things have panned out, logistically, I definitely could have been at Leeds. It was pretty much all steam ahead, but a couple of things fell through and it didn’t end up happening.”
