RL Cares launch online exercise programme

Charity Rugby League Cares have announced a new online fitness programme, aimed at keeping people fit whilst on lockdown.

Due to their original ‘Back Onside’ programme being suspended because of social distancing, they have now moved online.

All sessions will be streamed on the RL Cares Facebook page from 7.30pm every evening, starting tonight.

Head of RL Cares Chris Rostron said: “These are challenging times for everyone and the restrictions on travel and contact are making it difficult to either get fit or stay fit.

“We are always looking at new and innovative ways to enhance the health of the Rugby League family and All Onside is a great opportunity for people to take exercise from the comfort of their own homes.

“We have all seen what a huge success fitness coach Joe Wicks has had with his online workouts and this is a chance for Rugby League’s own fitness experts to play their own part.

“Many of the players who will be leading the All Onside fixtures are qualified physical instructors and all are keen and enthusiastic about helping people through this period.

“All Onside complements both the Rugby League United mental wellbeing initiative we are running with the RFL, Super League and RLWC2021, and the fantastic work many clubs are already doing with their own communities.”
