Rival Championship clubs still have major transfer business to reveal, according to high-profile agent

The 2022 Championship is set to be one of the most competitive since its conception.

With Featherstone Rovers still expected to be at the top of their game and the likes of Bradford Bulls, York City Knights, Halifax Panthers and Leigh Centurions recruiting heavily, the second tier will be incredibly competitive.

And, more signings are expected through the door, according to TheGameCaller and player agent Craig Harrison – owner of Show Me The Money UK agency – when the two spoke on The Full Eighty Minutes podcast.

“Jesse Sene-Lefao has been done and dusted at Featherstone and it’s only a matter of time before Mark Campbell will announce that,” TheGameCaller said.

“There is a potentially sizeable announcement for Rovers which is bigger than Jesse Sene-Lefao that is imminent – if it is pulled off and does happen, people will turn heads.

“Halifax still have another big one to announce, whilst Bradford and York are going to be heavily involved in the loan market and Bradford still have a number of external players to announce.

“They are probably players that are project players who have Super League experience and low mileage on the clock.”

Meanwhile, Harrison is aware of a number of Leeds Rhinos players that will be heading to the Championship and believes that this will have a tremendous influence on how the 2022 season pans out.

“Featherstone’s success depends on how many Leeds players they get, if they get four Leeds players who are on £20,000-25,000 a year then they are going to be hot property and great talents to have.”

The Championship fixtures were announced at the weekend with a blockbuster of an opening game between York and Featherstone on Monday 31 January.
