Rising star returns for Leeds Rhinos ahead of Salford Red Devils clash

Super League returns to Headingley on Friday night and sees Salford Red Devils travel over to face Rohan Smith’s Leeds Rhinos.

The fixture pits 8th placed Leeds against 5th placed Salford however both teams have won three from their last five, albeit for Salford it’s actually three wins on the spin.

That run of form has seen them manage tight two-point victories over both Leigh and Catalans highlighting that they can win games gritty.

They’ll have a task on their hands against the Rhinos, who whilst their form in general is up and down, actually have a near-perfect record at Headingley having won four on the spin since their first home game of the season.

That loss came against Hull FC, which they’ve since avenged, and so they host Paul Rowley’s men with four Headingley wins in a row and a run of four home victories over Salford, dating back to 2019 since their last home loss against Friday’s opponents.

Smith has made two changes to the 21 man squad that faced Leigh Leopards last time out. Aidan Sezer left that defeat with an injury at half time and misses out this week. Morgan Gannon is back in contention for the selection this week.

James Donaldson returns to the extended squad in the other change in place of Luis Roberts.

As for Salford Ken Sio misses out once again but Paul Rowley makes one change which sees Danny Addy drop out and Alex Gerrard step in.
