Riley Dean makes bold claim about Featherstone Rovers and is excited to work with “one of the greatest halves in history”

Exciting young Warrington Wolves halfback was revealed as Sean Long’s latest signing at Featherstone Rovers last night.

The ex-Leeds Rhinos assistant coach in his first ever head coach role.

He has signed ex-Wigan Warriors centre Chris Hankinson and Catalans Dragons forward Mathieu Cozza.

Then last night the Rovers delivered on the signing they promised but it wasn’t someone any expected.

They brought in the young Wolves halfback on a year on loan.

Dean himself is excited by the move believing the club is “on the bring of something great” as he said after signing for the Rovers.

“I’m really excited to be joining this club, I feel that it’s on the brink of something great,” Dean said.

He also revealed his excitement at working with Long saying: “From a personal perspective, the opportunity to work with one of the greatest halves in the history of the game in Sean Long is a huge opportunity, I’m really looking forward to seeing how I can progress under him.”

Dean helps the club replace Ryley Jacks and Morgan Smith after the former returned to Australia and Smith headed to Super League side Wakefield Trinity.

It will be interesting to see whether the Rovers make any further signings after bringing in the likes of Salford Red Devils forward Elijah Taylor.
