Richard Agar reveals Konrad Hurrell’s next destination

Richard Agar let slip Konrad Hurrell’s next destination in his post-match press conference following Leeds Rhinos’ 36-8 defeat to St Helens.

It was the semi-final of the Super League play-offs, but Leeds were second best with head coach Richard Agar confirming that Hurrell will be joining St Helens from 2022.

“He’s going from one great to another great one here,” Agar said.

“Koni has had a massive impact since he moved to the club, he’s a popular guy to have around the place.

“But, that’s sometimes the case in sport that things don’t work out because we have a salary cap.

“We wish him all the best and we will speak to him the next time we see him.”

Agar also confirmed that Rob Lui was in tears at the final whistle in what was his final game in a Rhinos shirt.

“Rob Lui has had a wonderful career and he’s had a big impact on the club in the short space of time he has been here.

“He’s also a champion bloke, they don’t get much better than him.”
