Richard Agar could make important changes to his Leeds squad for St Helens clash

Richard Agar could change his Leeds Rhinos side ahead of the crunch semi-final play-off clash with St Helens.

Agar has named an unchanged 21-man squad and could name the same side that beat Wigan, but Alex Mellor, King Vuniyayawa, Morgan Gannon and Jack Broadbent are all vying for a recall.

And, the Leeds boss was open about switching things up

“Yes, possibly not many (changes),” Agar said.

“Not many at all. We’ve had one or two selections dilemmas but we’ll see tomorrow night.

“We have considered he odd little tweak which is a good position to be in at this stage of the year.

“We’re really confident with every guy in that 21.”

Agar does, however, feel there is a lot of freshness in his squad that could help him through the clash.

“I think motivation isn’t a factor this week, we’ve got guys like Matt Prior and Zane Tetevano who have played in NRL grand finals in more than one occasion and we have young players that got a taste of it in the Challenge Cup last year.

“Plus we are fresh because a lot of players haven’t played, sometimes you’re clinging on on a bit when it gets to semi=finals because semi-finals are always high intensity, but we do feel there is a lot of running in our legs and there’s a freshness about the squad.”
