Richard Agar backs Leeds Rhinos and Salford Red Devils to cause teams problems in the play-offs

There’s a real fight on for the final two play-off spots in Super League.

Castleford and Leeds both hold fifth and sixth at the moment but the likes of Salford, Hull FC and Hull KR are chasing the duo.

It’s a fantastic race for the play-off spots, but former Leeds Rhinos boss Richard Agar wants the two teams who are going to trouble the top teams the most to make the cut for the most exciting play-off series and believes his former club would be one of those.

“In the race for the play-offs,” Agar said on Sky Sports, “I’d like to see the two teams who are going to have the biggest impact on the teams above them.

“I think Leeds, I’ve got a pretty biased opinion of the Leeds team but I think if Leeds get all their players back injury free then I think the confidence and the momentum they’ve got at the moment, I think they’ll be teams looking over their shoulders.”

The Rhinos have beaten two of the top four this year even defeating second-place cup winner Wigan 42-12 recently.

Agar also believes Salford would cause some teams problems in the play-offs adding: “I think Salford’s best game is one that will trouble teams as well.”

The Red Devils have battered Catalans this season, defeated Huddersfield 33-16 yesterday having battered Champions St Helens 44-12 a few weeks ago.
