Richard Agar addresses his own future and Aidan Sezer rumours

With a number of stars coming off contract at the end of 2021, the rumours have been circling about where some of them will reside in 2022.

One of those is Huddersfield halfback Aidan Sezer, who has been linked with a move to Leeds. And, Richard Agar fanned the flames further in his pre-match comments on Sky Sports.

“I think it’s been widely reported that we’ve got an interest in Aidan which is true, but we’ve spoken to a number of halfbacks.

“There have been a number of options, but we think he’s playing exceptionally well for Huddersfield and he’s a player we would like to get on our books for next year.”

Agar was also asked by pundit Jenna Brooks about his own career after being linked to the assistant coach role at Cronulla Sharks.

“Obviously Kevin (Sinfield) is leaving, but between me, Kevin and Gary (Hetherington) we will work something out during the track.

“It’s what the club wanted to do, douse down some of the noise in the media and the people linked with coaching jobs.

“I’ve been linked with other posts as well and that creates a swirl – agents reach out, and it was important for Gary to stress at the moment that there is no change for us.

“Down the track if that model changes then we will have to wait and see.”
