Rhinos offer young gun new contract after eye-catching performances

Leeds Rhinos 24-22 St Helens

Leeds Rhinos have offered full-back Jack Walker a new contract after his breakthrough to the first team this season.

The Oulton Raiders product has been the centre of attention for the Rhinos following his man-of-the-match performance against St Helens live on Sky Sports.

Walker has played four matches for the Rhinos in 2017, with two man-of-the-match gongs – his first coming against Doncaster in a Challenge Cup match thanks to a hat-trick.

Leeds CEO Gary Hetherington told Yorkshire Evening Post : “He is a player who has come through our system. He is out of academy contract at the end of the season and has been offered a new contract.

“He is clearly a player we see could have a future in the game with Leeds Rhinos.”

Signing a new contract would keep fellow Super League suitors away from Walker, who could easily turn out to be one of the hottest properties in the game if his early performances are anything to go by.
