Leeds Rhinos boss Richard Agar said there can be “no excuses” after his side conceded their second match to the Catalans Dragons in as many weeks.
In a carbon copy to last week’s game, the Rhinos led convincingly at half-time but the Dragons fought back and successfully stretched their winning run.
Agar criticised his side’s inability to learn lessons and said there are absolutely no excuses for the defeat.
“If we want to use any excuses then we can.” Agar said.
“Catalans travel away every other week. I know the conditions are not the best but they seem to be doing alright with it.
“I would look at the fact we have not learnt some lessons from last week and maybe we have not got the message strong enough during the week what to do when we are in front.
“That is the biggest disappointment for me. The way we handled the first 10-15 minutes of the second half.”
Leeds led 18-2 at the break thanks to two tries from Tom Briscoe and one from Kruise Leeming.
But the Dragons came out in the second period and found themselves ahead with three quick fire tries in the opening 15 minutes and never looked back.
Though praising some of his players, Agar calls for consistency from others.
“I thought we got tired because of our own start to the second half,” Agar added.
“I felt the biggest contributing factors were a lack of discipline and composure in the early parts of the half.
“Once that momentum started we just could not get it back. After all, 50% ball completion, back-to-back tries was not good enough.
“I thought we had a lot of players who tried very hard tonight but at the same time we were let down in some areas and we had some very poor performers.”
