RFL set to investigate claims of racism against Oledzki

The RFL will investigate claims that Leeds forward Mikolaj Oledzki was racially abused by a Warrington fan in the Rhinos’ 27-26 loss last night.

Referee Chris Kendall was informed by Oledzki after the Wolves had scored their fourth try, with the Polish-born prop visibly disappointed after the game.

“I’m really disappointed because we stand so strongly against racism and discrimination,” Oledzki said.

“I was shocked when I heard it as I’ve never experienced anything like it. There are kids in the stands and it isn’t something you want them to hear.

“To be honest, I was shocked myself because I’ve never really experienced it, but it’s not something you’d want your kids to hear.

“Everyone makes mistakes and reacts withe emotion sometimes, I’m not saying anyone is a bad person, but I just want people to think about what they say before they say it.”

Warrington have since released a statement that they “strongly condemn racism and discrimination” following Oledzki’s admission on the Leeds website.
