Barrow Raiders forward Greg Richards has been hit with a three-match suspension for his part in a brawl against York Knights last weekend.
The Cumbrian outfit hosted the Super League new boys in the third round of the Challenge Cup last Saturday with York ultimately being the victors, progressing through to the last 16 of the competition.
However, the clash was an ill-tempered one with Richards and veteran hooker Paul McShane being shown red cards following a mass brawl at Craven Park. The Match Review Panel opted not to charge the Super League man on Monday afternoon, but Richards has not been so fortunate.
Instead, the Barrow forward, who started his career at St Helens, has been handed a Grade E charge for punching. That charge comes with 18 disciplinary points and a three-match ban, ensuring he will miss the remainder of the month for Barrow.
Josh Wood has also been charged for Barrow, with the hooker getting a Grade A sanction for late contact on the passer, a fine has been deemed sufficient.

Two Lock Lane players have been hit with Grade B charges following their Cup tie with Hull KR, while Lee Gaskell has been handed a Grade B for contrary behaviour.
London Broncos’ Epel Kapianas and Workington Town’s Dominic Wear have also been punished.
