Acton’s ban extended to four months after appeal

Jamie Acton’s ban has been extended to four months after Leigh appealed his nine-match suspension.

The Centurions forward was given the initially ban on Tuesday when he was found guilty of a Grade F charge relating to an incident with Catalans player Greg Bird.

Leigh appealed the decision insisting it was too harsh, however an Independent Operational Rules Tribunal have dismissed the appeal and the original ban.

Instead they issued Acton with an extended four-month suspension, back-dated to July 1st (date of the offence) meaning his season is officially over.

Leigh Centurions are yet to comment on the decision.
