Hull FC have made plenty of signings for next season, with some big names, including John Asiata and Zak Hardaker, plying their trade at the MKM Stadium in 2025.
However, they’ve also made some mid-season additions, including that of winger Tom Briscoe.
Broscoe’s move to the Black and Whites from Leigh Leopards was part of a swap deal that saw Darnell McIntosh head the other way, despite being an almost ever-present starter for Hull FC for the start of the current campaign, as well as the previous two seasons.
He has scored four tries since joining the Leopards, in nine games, and has been the team’s designated goal-kicker of late under Adrian Lam.
Previous to his time at Hull FC, McIntosh played almost 100 Super League games for Huddersfield Giants, scoring 46 tries in the process.
Revealed – Why Darnell McIntosh left Hull FC mid-season
Speaking to Love Rugby League, the 27-year-old – whose Hull FC contract was up at the end of this year anyway – said that his long commute to Hull was a struggle: “That was one of the main struggles around it.
“I was really happy rugby-wise to join Leigh, but it was just the living situation side of things. For 10 weeks, I was driving and some days it was three hours there and then three hours back because I’d hit traffic going both ways.
“That was a bit challenging, and my partner is well on her way pregnancy wise too.”
Still a Super League starter with Leigh Leopards, despite having to wait four games before finally making his debut, he seems to be happy now: “It’s always difficult, I don’t think there’s any player in the competition that doesn’t want to be playing regularly.
“But with the culture we have at Leigh, Lammy was speaking to me none stop throughout that period about what he knew I could bring to the team and sometimes, it’s just how it happens.
“I thought it would work out for the best for me, and I’m glad I did it in hindsight now. I’m playing some good rugby and the team is in a good position.”

I remember when Mc Intosh signed for Hull ,there was a big thing about the fact he’d moved home to Hull so he wasn’t commuting. What happened there.?
