Super League star Tyler Dupree recently made a transfer request to leave the Salford Red Devils which was confirmed by the club.
Salford’s Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease clarified the club’s position regarding Dupree earlier this week.
“I can confirm the club have received a transfer request from the agent of Tyler Dupree today. We have strongly refused the request, with the player still a big part of our plans going forward.
“As a club, we are committed to retaining our players and after a recent extension, Tyler is contracted until the end of 2025.”
Hull KR were leading the chase for Dupree and made two bids for him.
There was then a twist with Wigan Warriors putting in a bid for the prop with the Warriors suffering an injury crisis in the pack.
However, Dupree has clarified recently that there has been “miscommunication” about the situation and stated that he will continue to play his best for the Red Devils.
Now former Hull KR star Paul Cooke has claimed Dupree will be staying at Salford for the foreseeable future.
Speaking on Viaplay, Cooke said: “There was a bid from Hull KR. They were interested in bringing him but we’re now told that he will be staying at Salford for the remainder of his contract.”
