Revealed: When Wakefield Trinity’s new signing Jorge Taufua will arrive

Wakefield Trinity

After suffering defeat to Toulouse today, Wakefield need a massive boost to rekindle their season.

After conceding 120 points in two games against Salford and Wigan, Wakefield lost a must win game against at the Magic Weekend today leaving just two points between them and bottom club Toulouse who turned around a 20-4 halftime deficit around to down Wakefield 38-26 in a scintillating second half catalysed by two yellow cards to Wakefield with five of Toulouse’s five tries coming when Wakefield were down to 12 men.

So, Trinity are well and truly in peril as they were in 2006 and 2019 and they need a boost. But that may have already come in a flurry of signings. Kyle Evans has been a superb find and was top notch again today whilst Josh Bowden will strengthen up the pack and was in the squad to play today but did not feature.

The final signing was NRL winger Jorge Taufua from Manly Sea Eagles after the club released their powerhouse winger enabling him to take on the new challenge.

He, especially with Tom Johnstone out and Bill Tupou retired, would be a massive boost.

After today’s game Willie Poching revealed that the winger would arrive in England next week but his debut is likely to come later as he settles down into the country.

Meanwhile, Bowden is expected to make his debut next week as Trinity take on an injury hit Hull KR side who also lost to Toulouse recently.
