Revealed: The Super League players available to sign for 2025

Super League

After the May 1st deadline that saw clubs allowed to officially begin negotiations with off-contract players, there’s been a number of signings between Super League clubs, but it’s now also been revealed which off-contract players have not been offered new deals at their current clubs.

That has effectively meant that there is a handful of players that rival clubs could and should be targeting after the leaked list of players surplus to requirements emerged.

Upon that list are some of the stars of Super League with standouts including Leigh Leopards’ centre Ricky Leutele, Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell and Wigan Warriors’ forwards Mike Cooper and Willie Isa.

The names were circulated to Super League sides informing each team of the respective status of each off-contract player, meaning that there were also the names of players such as Tommy Makinson and Tom Johnstone, who are widely reported and expected to have already penned deals with prospective clubs.

There are also names of plenty of players whose status is undetermined with their club meaning that they’re playing for a contract, but more interesting is the list of names who have been deemed surplus to requirements.

Of the initial 100 or more off-contract players entering the season, just eleven players have been told that they’re free to find other clubs with no contract offer made to them by their current club.

Below are those eleven men who each and every other Super League side will now have on their radar as they potentially race to secure signatures.

Interestingly, only three Super League sides have committed to confirming that contracts won’t be offered with the remaining nine sides leaving the player’s status up in the air with it being as yet undetermined.

Of course, some of those ‘undetermined’ players feature the likes of Tom Johnstone and Tommy Makinson whose transfers to Wakefield Trinity and Catalans Dragons are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks and months.

But the eleven names that pique the interest and won’t be playing Super League rugby at their current clubs can be found below.
