A Wigan Warriors duo are in contention in the form of Harry Smith and Bevan French. Both were on the scoreboard when the Warriors inflicted a first defeat of the season on Warrington Wolves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

And the final two players completing April’s shortlist are Shane Wright of Salford Red Devils and Hull KR’s Mikey Lewis, whose impressive start to the year has earnt him his first England call-up at just 21 years of age.

Voting is open now on the Our League app until Sunday, April 29

The first winner of the award this year went to Hull FC fullback Tex Hoy after he helped the club to back to back wins to start the season.

Surprisingly he beat Jordan Abdull to the award despite having nine Man of Steel points out of a possible nine at the time.

The following month Man of Steel leader George Williams picked up the award as he announced his new contract with the Wolves alongside Paul Vaughan.
