Revealed: Mammoth transfer fee required to sign Super League star

Super League clubs like Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull KR and Hull FC have all been involved in big transfer stories in the last month.

Leeds made their first signing for 2024 when they announced the signing of Mickael Goudemand for 2024 and beyond. This came as it was confirmed Sam Walters would be joining Wigan Warriors next year alongside his former Leeds teammate and Huddersfield Giants star Kruise Leeming and Tiaki Chan.

As for Warrington they have signed NRL star Lachlan Fitzgibbon for the 2024 season from Newcastle Knights beating the likes of Leeds to his signature.

As for Hull KR, they made an immediate signing in the shape of NRL star Brad Schneider.

This comes as Hull FC let go of Josh Griffin immediately as rumours circle that Jake Clifford will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

This comes as Leigh Leopards star Lachlan Lam is also linked with an NRL move as is Salford Red Devils star and Man of Steel Brodie Croft.

The stand-off was unplayable late into the 2022 Super League season.

He guided the Red Devils to the play-offs from an unlikely position tearing teams apart with his running game.

The stand-off won the Man of Steel as consequence and took Salford all the way to the semi-finals.

However a head injury ruled him out of the clash against St Helens and he could have been the difference in what was a disappointing day for the club.

The club were proactive about his future signing him to a huge eight year deal but that hasn’t stopped NRL club Wests Tigers from having an interest in the star stand-off with the Daily Telegraph reporting that he is now a potential target for the club.

Now the same publication have suggested Benji Marshall and the Tigers would be prepared to battle for his signature.

It has been reported by a number of sources down under that it would take a mammoth fee, a six figure sum to sign Croft.

However recent reports have suggested it could be as little as $150,000 or £78,000.

The Tigers have lost Luke Brooks to Manly Sea Eagles in 2024 after he was linked with a move to Leeds Rhinos.
