Reports: Super League club interested in NRL star

Huddersfield Giants' major transfer business saw them sign Adam Clune

Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Hull FC, Leigh Leopards and Salford Red Devils have questions over their halfbacks.

Leeds halfbacks Blake Austin and Aidan Sezer are both out of contract as is Cade Cust at Wigan Warriors leaving both interested in halfbacks.

Leigh Leopards are working to keep Lachlan Lam whilst Salford Red Devils do the same with Brodie Croft.

Canberra Raiders and Wests Tigers have been the interested parties.

Speaking of NRL clubs and Super League halfbacks, Jake Clifford is set to go back down under as first reported by the Hull Daily Mail.

Jon Wells also reported on Sky Sports that the North Queensland Cowboys made an offer for the halfback that was accepted.

Following this, the Daily Telegraph in Australia has also confirmed the news down under making it almost certain that Clifford will be playing for North Queensland in 2024.

Then Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks confirmed Hull FC will look to replace him but will be patient to find the right signing.

The reports are that the Black and Whites have their target in the shape of Adam Clune from the Newcastle Knights.

Now that interest has been confirmed by Newcastle Herald reporter Barry Toohey.

“I think there is interest. Hull are keen on Adam Clune and that is the talk. Whether he is prepared to go to England, I’m not 100% sure and there is talk that he is not,” Toohey said on the Toohey’s News podcast.

“I know the Knights haven’t discarded signing Adam Clune for next season. I’m not sure how far Hull are down the track with Clune or even if they are down the track with Clune going to England.

“I think he would be very good over there, he has played the last few NSW Cup games and he has played very well. I would try and keep him.”

Time will tell whether Hull bring in yet another player from the Newcastle Knights.

Jake Clifford and Tex Hoy have both been successful signings so far and they will be hoping they can repeat that success with Clune as a replacement for the brilliant Clifford.
