Reports: NSW duo spent eight hours in pub before decider

New South Wales Rugby League are investigating claims that Blues pair Josh Dugan and Blake Ferguson spent eight hours at a pub the Friday before the State of Origin decider against Queensland.

Dugan and Ferguson famously took photos of themselves drinking on a roof together back in 2013 when they played for the Canberra Raiders.

Now they are under further scrutiny after the Blues again under-performed when it mattered, losing the decider 22-6 to Queensland at Suncorp Stadium.

Fox Sports NRL 360 reported that the duo took advantage of their day off the Friday before the decider to leave camp, spending as many as eight hours at a pub an hour south of their team base.

“We’ve been made aware of the reports at a hotel on the players’ day off. We were previously unaware,” said NSWRL chief executive David Trodden. “This will be one of the matters that will be looked at in the review of the 2017 series.”

New South Wales have have won only one Origin series in the last 12 years and if found guilty, it is thought the pair may have played their last game for the Blues.
