Reports: NRL club hold talks with Super League star

Reports down under have claimed that an NRL club have held talks with one of the most in form Super League stars right now.

That is of course Lachlan Lam. The Leigh Leopards halfback has taken Super League by storm in 2023.

The former Sydney Roosters player joined the club towards the end of 2022 linking up with his father, the Head Coach, Adrian Lam, formerly of the Wigan Warriors.

Lam helped secure Leigh’s Super League promotion and has been one of the most in form halfbacks of the season so far reaching a peak with a brace of tries and a magnificent assist against Wakefield Trinity last week at St James’ Park in the Magic Weekend in a win that took Leigh to the top four.

Adrian Lam has been open in the past about his son’s desire to return to the NRL and he may have the opportunity to do so with the Canberra Raiders reportedly interested in the halfback and according to Zero Tackle the club have held talks with Lam.

The Raiders want Lam to replace the departing Jack Wighton.

Lam also starred for Papua New Guinea in the Rugby League World Cup.
