Reports: Ex-Huddersfield Giants star begins talks as club looks to secure his signature

Dom Young’s superb performances in the Rugby League World Cup only furthered the interest from other clubs in the NRL in his signature.

The former Huddersfield Giants man stirred up talk about his quality when he devastated Fiji in Shaun Wane’s warm-up clash prior to signing a world class brace against Samoa in the opening game of the tournament.

On the back of a superb NRL season as he scored tries for fun for Newcastle Knights after a season developing in 2021, this shot Young into the headlines.

There was plenty of interest in Young before this, but this exponentially increased as he shone in the World Cup scoring four tries in 40 minutes against Greece after a 100 metre try against France.

Serious About Rugby League previously revealed that the likes of The Dolphins, Melbourne Storm and the Canberra Raiders had an interest in him alongside five Sydney based clubs.

The Daily Telegraph revealed that he is the most in demand player in the NRL right now ahead of the likes of Mitchell Moses and Dylan Brown as they revealed Sydney Roosters, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Cronulla and others are interested in him.

In fact they claim that up to nine clubs are chasing him.

However, according to the Newcastle Herald has revealed that his current club the Knights have begun talks to try and tie the former Huddersfield Giants youngster to the club in the future beyond the expiry of his current deal which ends at the end of 2023.
