Reports – Castleford pay significant fee to bring in Richardson

Reports in the Hull Daily Mail suggest Danny Richardson will be a Castleford Tigers player next season.

The 23-year-old has endured a frustrating season at St Helens and has attracted interest from a number of clubs.

Hull KR were one of the teams eager to bring in the half-back, but it appears he is heading for West Yorkshire with a significant fee agreed according to journalist James O’Brien.

Richardson was named in the 2018 Super League Dream Team but lost his place in the Saints side to Theo Fages at the start of this season.

The playmaker spent time with Leigh Centurions on dual-registration earlier in the campaign before injuries saw him return to the Totally Wicked Stadium.

But he has been unable to cement his place in Justin Holbrook’s team and despite the arrival of a new coach next season, Richardson will leave his Saints contract early to become a Tiger in 2020.
