Leeds Rhinos star Brodie Croft is feeling refreshed after his week layoff with the playmaker previewing the club’s Catalans clash.
Croft missed out in Round Three after failing a HIA in Round Two but he explained that he is back and ready to take on Catalans with Brad Arthr having already revealed that he and fellow half Matt Frawley will start.
Speaking on the Leeds Rhinos YouTube channel, Croft said: “With the protocol of the concussions you get a few days off at the start of the week after you get concussed so I had a chance to just chill out a bit there and freshen up the body.
“It was pleasing to see the boys get the result last weekend. The last 15 minutes definitely wasn’t pleasing but it was promising what the boys put in and if we can build off the back of that then it’s exciting.”
Leeds flew out to Perpignan earlier than normal with the Rhinos heading out on Thursday for Saturday’s game, something that Croft praised, stating: “I think definitely, getting the legs moving after the flight over. I think it’s good for this group to continue building the connections that we’ve already been building and hopefully it all builds into a really good performance.”
Having watched from the sidelines last week, Croft had a good view of the 38-24 win and whilst he praised the team’s patience, he also picked up on Brad Arthur’s heavy criticism at the sloppiness late on.
“Some of the tries we scored last week were outstanding,” Croft said.
“There were periods where we had to be more patient and other teams in years gone by could have leaked points after not scoring but we were patient and hung in there, reaped the rewards in the end.
“Obviously, BA wasn’t happy with the last 15 minutes but that’s something that we’ve spoken about and hopefully that’s the last time this year it happens and we have an 80 minute performance this week.”
Looking to that clash against winless Catalans, he said: “We’re expecting the best version of Catalans, they’re always a big physical team and they have a fair few players back so we’ll have to be on our A game.”
