Red Star ‘looking at all options’

Red Star Belgrade have confirmed they are looking at all options in the future, including a potential League One bid.

The Serbian side were responding to reports that they had abandoned their bid to enter League One. Instead, they would seek entry to a new European Competition.

However, they did confirm nothing would be happening immediately. This is due to the current situation with the coronavirus.

A short statement on social media said: “We confirm in this present situation we are not bidding for (League One) inclusion in 2021.

“We have however, not confirmed we are abandoning a potential future anywhere after that date.

“Given our CEO is on the Working Group for the Viability of a new European Club Competition, it is vital we review all options now prior to proceeding in any one direction.”
