Really worrying scenes at Magic Weekend as ambulance staff come to support Super League star after injury

The Magic Weekend is a joyous occasion but sadly we are all overseeing worrying scenes at St James Park.

James Batchelor hasn’t moved since a tackle inside the Hull KR half.

Credit has to go to Chris Atkin for calling for support immediately.

Batchelor has sadly ended up in an awkward position and has yet to move.

Ambulance staff have also come onto the field to help as they prepare to get him ready for the stretcher.

Batchelor has had a terrific start to life at Hull KR and has been backed by coach Willie Peters to play for England like his brother St Helens star Joe Batchelor.

Batchelor was heavily involved in the opening 15 minutes.

Salford Red Devils thought they had the first try of the Magic Weekend when they cut the Robins up with wide plays prior to winning a penalty. Then stand in hooker Chris Atkin looked to dive over but lost the ball over the line.

After Salford again went close through Kallum Watkins, the Robins hit first. A lovely offload from James Batchelor set Matt Parcell away and great support from Lachlan Coote allowed Elliot Minchella to score.

Salford then levelled matters with an 80 metre try. Brodie Croft carved them up behind the ruck and found Joe Burgess in support to streak away.
