The latest part in the NRL series sees the best centres in the league ranked.

Here are our choices…

5. Justin Olam

2020 was a massive year for the PNG powerhouse. With 11 tries in 21 games, Olam also ended with 57 tackle breaks, highlighting just how hard he is to stop on the field. A tackling machine with an average of 111m per game, Olam finished the year with a premiership ring too.

4. Zac Lomax

A superb season for the 21-year-old, 2020 saw Lomax start off at fullback before moving quickly to the centres. It was a match made in heaven as the rangy three-quarter finished the season with 13 tries, seven try assists and 101m per game. Made it into the NSW Origin squad due to his form.

3. Kotoni Staggs

Though he had a disrupted season with just 14 games under his belt, Staggs was instrumental in all those for the Broncos. Ten tries, 12 linebreaks and 46 tackle breaks in that period underlines the centre’s importance to the Brisbane side. An ACL injury sustained in 2020 kept him out of the NSW Origin squad.

2. Joseph Manu

One of the best centres in the world, Manu may have only scored nine tries in 21 games, but he ended the year with a huge 85 tackle breaks which ranked fifth in the whole competition. Manu also averaged over 100m per game, further stressing his extraordinary impact Down Under.

1. Stephen Crichton

Just 20 years of age, Crichton had registered just four NRL appearances prior to 2020. But, he ended the year with 17 tries in 22 appearances, seven try assists and 18 linebreaks as he became pivotal to Penrith’s charge to the Grand Final. Crichton even made the NSW Origin squad in a truly incredible breakthrough year.
