With the Super League season taking a break for the Challenge Cup this week, it is as good a time as any to reflect on the season so far.
So, we’re looking at the five best signings of the season so far.
5. Jake Clifford (Hull FC)
Clearly a top halfback, Jake Clifford has stood out brilliantly at the MKM Stadium. Strong for a halfback and a terrific organiser, he has shown he has everything a Super League halfback needs.
4. Zak Hardaker (Leigh Leopards)
Under the radar somewhat, Hardaker has been brilliant even if he has ended up playing in a surprise position at centre. Strong in defence and elusive in attack he and former Leeds Rhinos teammate Tom Briscoe are a great combo for the Leopards on the right.
3. Adam Keighran (Catalans Dragons)
In sensational form to start the season, Keighran has been a brilliant signing. He has provided the Dragons with great versatility as well playing centre and stand-off.
2. Tom Johnstone (Catalans Dragons)
Keighran has been good but Johnstone has been better. One of the league’s top try scorers, he has been back to his best. Strong and fast, he has been unstoppable at times.
1. Paul Vaughan (Warrington Wolves)
Undoubtedly the signing of the season. He has been the league’s best forward so far this campaign. A great leader and metre maker. He has added steal to the Warrington pack.
