Ranking the best Super League stadium atmospheres – voted for by you

The best Super League stadiums to look at may well be the most modern ones, but for atmosphere alone, the older ones certainly rank high amongst rugby league fans.

Serious About Rugby League asked fans in a recent post to vote on which Super League stadium they felt had the best atmosphere and now the results are in.

Right out in front by quite a distance is the Mend-a-Hose Jungle, home of the Castleford Tigers. A whopping 33% of voters cast theirs for the old West Yorkshire venue, with the atmosphere quite clearly impressing away fans.

Next up in line are the Leeds Rhinos, whose voting polled at 19% at their Headingley ground. It’s unsurprising really, considering that the venue has been brought into the 21st century in its latest redevelopment but that incredible atmosphere of old has still been saved.

Not far behind is Hull KR’s Craven Park with 18% – the third old stadium in the top three.

Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium sits in fourth place with 14%, with St Helens and their Totally Wicked Stadium coming in at 9%.

Salford Red Devils and their AJ Bell Stadium rocks up in sixth with 4%, with the MKM Stadium of Hull FC and the Stade Gilbert Brutus of the Catalans Dragons equal on 1.5%.

No votes were cast for Wakefield Trinity, Wigan Warriors, Huddersfield Giants or Toulouse Olympique.
