Rain or Shine Wigan 5/2 for 5 Stars

World Club Series Singapore

Super League Champions Wigan go for a record 5th World Club Challenge star against NRL Champs Sydney Roosters at the DW Stadium on Sunday .

Bookies have made it clear who they think will win it with the Roosters 3/10 favourites with Sponsors Betfred to win the game .

Recent history backs up the bookies argument with only 2 Super League wins so far this decade . Wigan are 9/4 to win in 80 minutes , as they did 2 years ago against Cronulla but I think this Roosters side will be better prepared than the Sharks were that day .

In these games alot depends on how much the NRL side want to win the game , some treat it as a pre season friendly , but with Sydney having a former Super League Coach at the helm in Trent Robinson you have to feel they’ll be bang up for this .

The Roosters have to concede an 8 point start on the handicap and I think they can cover that , Wigan looked poor in defence at times against Leeds last week and I think the Aussies can exploit that . The Warriors are still missing Manfredi and I do feel their young wingers could find their NRL counterparts , who include former Rhino Ryan Hall , a bit too strong . The last 4 NRL wins in the WCC have all been by double figures , though 2 games were played in Australia .

Betfred offer 4/5 Sydney on the half time full time and that is probably where the value lies . I think they can win this by around 11-15 points and take the trophy back Down Under .

Hall leads the 1st try market at around 8/1 and he would be my pick given his record in big games . Cherry and White punters may look to Hardaker at around 18’s .

James Tedesco would be my pick for man of the match , it would have to be Williams for the hosts as he was their best player by a mile against the Rhinos .

Super League is back next week , as always please gamble responsibly .
