Price confirms Warrington injury blow

Warrington Wolves Head Coach Steve Price has confirmed forward Jason Clark will be out for four-to-five weeks with a calf strain.

Clark, who has been with the club since 2019, was taken off during Warrington’s 62-18 victory over Salford Red Devils on Thursday night with the issue, and spent the rest of the night with an ice pack strapped to his calf.

On Clark, he said: “He’s got a calf strain, so he will be out for four-to-five weeks. It’s unfortunate because he was playing some really good stuff for us.

“It’s a real shame for Jase. He will be really diligent in his rehab, and hopefully it will not be too long before he is back.”

Price also confirmed Mike Cooper and Joe Philbin will both be fit for Saturday’s Challenge Cup Semi-Final against Castleford Tigers on Saturday.

Cooper missed the game with a slight knock, while Philbin also picked up a knock during the game and was taken off as a precaution.
