Former Wigan head coach Shaun Wane has been rumoured with the Newcastle Knights job for next season.

Among them are Price and Wane, as well as former Hull KR head coach Tim Sheens, former Catalans boss Kevin Walters and ex-Super League players Trent Barrett, Craig Fitzgibbon and Jason Ryles.

Other names being thrown into the ring include Anthony Griffin, Garth Brennan, Shane Flanagan and rumoured St Helens targets Adam O’Brien and Kristian Woolf.

An announcement confirming the new head coach isn’t expected for some time yet, however it would be a huge blow to the Wolves should Price prove to be the number one target.
